Team Redline Racing Make Great Return To Porsche Sprint Challenge GB
Team Redline Racing made an exciting return to the Cayman Islands Porsche Sprint Challenge GB at Silverstone this past weekend (07/08 May).
A late deal saw them enter Steve Roberts for a full season in a Porsche 718 Cayman Clubsport GT4. Despite little testing, Roberts took to the series strongly and showed good pace throughout Friday practice.
A fine qualifying performance saw him secure fourth on the grid for the first of three races at the Home of British Motor Racing. With the podium well within range, the former Ginetta racer chased hard but could not quite usurp the top three as he came home fourth.
Roberts had two more chances to pick up silverware the next day in his Glasswall-backed Cayman and pushed hard through both races as he went on to compete a hat-trick of fourth place finishes.
Simon Leonard – Managing Director: “It was a late deal to return to the series with a Cayman, but Steve has joined us and started off very well despite the lack of testing compared to others on the grid. We've been impressed with his speed and consistency, so that we know can only improve with more mileage under his belt for the rest of the season."
Team Redline Racing are next in action this weekend (14/15 May) with the Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Donington Park. Two weeks on from then (28/29 May), the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB is at Thruxton while the British GT Championship returns at Donington Park.
